Joint TALGUD June 11 2011...More Info On that day we honour four long-time Seedrioru volunteer workers who continue to support Seedrioru through their labours. Join us in celebrating their 90th birthdays! Seedrioru has been close to the hearts of all four Honourees, setting a good example for us all. The Honourees are Jaan Eichenbaum, Heino Paluveer, Benno Jostman, and Kalju Varangu. All four were quick to agree to participate in the hope that the Celebration can benefit Seedrioru. They and we hope that existing members of the Four Societies and people who may be on the fringes waiting to be reintroduced to Seedrioru will take this opportunity to celebrate with them. Help us grow support for Seedrioru by ensuring that the work these men have done over the past decades will continue to be done in the future. No gifts please! Instead, letʼs make the most of this opportunity to benefit Seedrioru either by donating directly to Seedrioru and/or donating through the Estonian Society of Canada for tax-deductible donations, and/or contributing your much-needed and appreciated labour.There are several ways in which you can help make this Celebration a success: -Do hands-on volunteer work on projects that have been identified as high priority. We have identified few large projects: assembly of the new playground; Cement pouring for outdoor showers -Participate in the lottery to be held in the evening; help ensure it will be a success by donating prizes for the lottery. Please send us your suggestions on how we can work together to make the most of this opportunity on June 11th to celebrate volunteer work. Seedrioru Open House July 10th OPEN HOUSE on the first Day of Camp on July 10th! If you or your children are curious about the camp just come over and take a peek! Open house waits for you starting 11 am: have a swim, play ball, or try tubes! Pig Roast will be ready by 2 pm. Bon Appetite! Avatud Maja esimesel Laagri päeval 10. Juulil! Kui Sina ja Sinu lapsed on alati huvi tundnud mis siin laagris toimub siis tule meile külla ja vaata ringi: uju, mängi palli, vaata loodust, proovi tuube! Hamiltoni Eesti Seltsi Segakoor kutsub tähistama jõule Seedriorus. Ainulaadne üritus pakub lahedate jõuluaja dzässmuusikat Jack McFadden Trio esituses ja jõululaule, mida laulab HES'i Segakoor. Ette loetakse koori liikmete ja nende sugulaste mälestusi jõulude tähistamisest esmiese Eesti Vabariigi ajal, Nõukogude ajal, tänapäeva Eestis ja Kanadas.
Perede jõulumälestuste kohta tuleb ka audiovisuaalne esitlus. Pärast muusikalist osa toimub einelaud ja vaikne oksjon, mille tulud lähevad Seedrioru Lastesuvelaagrile.
The Hamilton Estonian Society Mixed Choir will present its Christmas Celebration at Seedrioru. This will be a unique event, mixing smooth Christmas jazz with the Jack McFadden Trio and carols sung by the HES choir. There will also be readings about Christmas' past, present and future written by present members of the HES choir and relatives who have experienced what Christmas was like during "Esimene Vabariigi Eesti", Soviet Times, and nowadays in both Canada and Estonia. There will also be an audio-visual presentation of family Christmas celebration memories.
A reception after the musical portion of the afternoon will accompany a silent auction, with proceeds going to the Children's Camp.
Sissepääs/Admission: Vabatahtlik annetus / Donation
Please bring along a toy as a donation to underprivileged children in Estonia.
